01What a video consultation is
A video consultation is a live audio-video call with a registered medical practitioner of Hari Om Clinic. It is provided under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 issued by the Board of Governors in supersession of the Medical Council of India.
02When it is suitable
- Follow-up after surgery or treatment, and wound checks the doctor can see on camera.
- Discussing test reports, scans or ongoing medicines.
- A first opinion on whether you need to visit the clinic or a surgery.
03When it is not suitable
Do not use a video consultation for emergencies such as severe pain, heavy bleeding, chest pain, breathing difficulty, serious injury or unconsciousness. Call +91 70707 78809 or 112 / 108, or go to the nearest hospital.
Some conditions need a physical examination. The doctor may end the video consultation early and ask you to visit the clinic; see our Refund Policy for how fees are handled.
04How it works
- Book a video slot and, if you wish, pay online.
- You receive a private joining link on screen and on WhatsApp. No app is needed; a phone or laptop with camera, microphone and stable internet is enough.
- Join a few minutes early from a quiet, well-lit place. Keep your reports and medicines handy.
- The doctor may confirm your identity (name, age) at the start of the call.
05Privacy of the call
- Calls are not recorded by the clinic. Please do not record the call either.
- Each link is unique to your appointment and expires after the slot. Do not share it.
- The doctor writes consultation notes in your record, as for an in-person visit.
- Another person may join only with your permission (for example a family member, or a guardian for a minor).
06Prescriptions
The doctor may give advice or a prescription where it is safe to do so under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines. Some medicines cannot be prescribed over video and need an in-person visit.
07Your consent
When you tick the video consultation consent box while booking, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood this page.
- You agree to be consulted over video, knowing its limits compared with an in-person examination.
- The information you share is true and complete to the best of your knowledge.
- For a minor or a dependent adult, you are their parent or legal guardian.
You can withdraw consent at any time before or during the call.
